It is a matter of great pleasure for me to write the foreword for the maiden version of the ‘Boiler World Update’(BWU) e-newsletter. Historically, boilers and their use has been synonymous with the industrial revolution from the beginning in the 18th century and subsequent developments . Steam power production from boilers has been central to the growth of many economies for the last 2 centuries. The growth of the steam boiler market has been significantly aided by some of the end-user industries such as oil & gas, chemical, process industries, metal and mining, food, hospital & healthcare,paper, textile, rice & sugar mills, distilleries etc. It is very apt that the BWU publishers intend to focus on the achievements, regulations &policies, industrial safeties and the professional interactions such as webinars and conferences in the boiler industry. The magazine would serve the important function of bringing home the plethora of developments relating to business opportunities, collaborations and technological advancements to the world’s boiler community. It is in this context that the objective of the Boiler World Update (BWU) to create a comprehensive global e-publication of repute for All Things Steam! is most laudable.My heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the organizers in this all-things-steam endeavour.
